Our Roots
How L3 Recovery Came to Be
Pastor Andy is a former addict turned church planter and pastor. His journey through recovery, molestation, the early loss of his mother, and a series of other difficulties taught him how difficult it can be to move from a painful past to a purposeful present.
Over the years, he found many had experienced the same frustrations and disappointments with the existing recovery groups. Existing groups offered some accountability and support but little hope or vision for the future. Through prayer and Bible study, he developed L3 Recovery as a simple community-based recovery model with a focus on Loving God, Loving People, and Living Like We Mean It.
Jesus taught a simple path to pleasing God and living a fulfilled life by loving God and loving people. Like Jesus, Andy believes all of the laws of recovery can be condensed into these two commands. When we love we forgive, we make amends, and every other action needed to build our lives and restore relationships. The path to freedom from grief, abuse, anxiety, self-harm, and addiction is all found in the message of Jesus to love God, love people, and live like we mean it. Each week we dive into a practical way to intentionally live love and we follow the path of Jesus to freedom, purpose, and joy.
Our local groups and video lessons are led by people, just like you, who are walking their recovery journey. We believe God wants to work through each and every person He created. God is not waiting to use perfect people to share His love, God is looking for grateful people who love Him and love others. As you begin to heal and grow, we pray you will find the joy of sharing in our lifestyle of loving God, loving people, and living like you mean it.

Pastor Andy
Has been married to his wife since 1996. They have five beautiful children (four girls and one boy). He is a church planter, pastor of the Beat Church, children's book author, and ministry coach. His passion for recovery comes from his own experience. He originally found Jesus when a friend threw him in the back of his car passed out drunk and drove him to a local pastor's house. Over the years he has struggled through the pain of being molested as a child, extreme social anxiety, the early loss of his mother, and many other difficulties. God continues to bring purpose from the pain. Pastor Andy, was insistent that the L3 material and support would be offered free, so everyone has access to the hope and healing that can only be found in a relationship with Jesus and His family.
